Latte Mei Toronto 奶蓋咩多倫多店

It finally arrived in Toronto!!! In 2010, I went Taiwan and tried a drink called "Milk top tea"(奶蓋茶)
During that two weeks of trip, I crave for it almost everyday.
A cup of good quality of green tea top with a thick layer of savory cream.
The saltiness and sweetness merging together to create this harmony drink.
Now i do not need to travel all the way to Taiwan to find this drink because 奶蓋咩 is here~~~
Latte Mei (奶蓋咩) is a franchise from Taiwan.

Tried Savory Cream Brown Rice Tea~
You can choose the Level of sweetness and Quantity of ice.
I tried the regular one.(didn't customized it)
Their Tea is really decent.  I love it~
It's not weird to have sweet and salty mixed together.
It's just like chocolate with sea salt, or caramel with sea salt.
The saltiness of the cream can really bring up the sweetness in the tea.  They are balanced well.

My brother is enjoying his savory cream Wheat Tea.
And he is wondering what to try for the next time~
hahaha....

SANSOTEI Ramen (2nd Visit)

This time I went with my brother since he loves ramen so much.
However, both of us get disappointed.
The white, straight and thin noodle isn't as hard, but my brother prefer yellow, curly noodle.
I'm ok with the noodle, however the pork isn't as soft and tender.
The first time I ate here, the pork belly is thick and tastes very good.
Now, the pork are thinly sliced and not rich in flavor as last time.  >.<
The broth is still good.  I really want to know what happened to pork belly!?
And I wish they can improve the noodle too.
They are like Shanghai thin noodle(上海幼麵) more than Japanese ramen.

Do not need to order the Gyoza.  The meat isn't marinated well and not much juice in the dumpling.

Zen Japanese Restaurant

http://www.zenjapaneserestaurant.com/

KANPACHI USUZUKURI
(Thinly sliced Amber jack)
This is a must try item.

You can see the chef really know how to use his knife.  So thinly sliced that you can see it through.

It comes with the special dipping sauce.
Everyone loves this dish~  =]

Sashimi (Chef's choice)
This portion is for 3 people.
I found it quite enough for 6 of us, since we order some other dishes too.

They are really fresh.

2 gor loves futo maki.
He orders this maki in each Japanese restaurant he tried.

Surprisingly, we all like this one.
Mostly because of the famous egg roll tastes really good.  And it looks big and cute.

If you do not want to order this maki, should order the Tamago sashimi/sushi.

negitoro roll is the best~  =]
But i think hand roll will taste even better~

Sea Eel (anago) sushi~  =]
It's different from unagi.
Anago is from salt water and Unagi is from freshwater.

We ordered katsu (deep fried pork chop), however it is overcooked?
The meat is so dry.  I won't order that again.

hapa Izakaya

http://hapaizakaya.com/
My japanese hair stylist told me about this newly opened Izakaya.
After my haircut, we went to there for our dinner~
It located at the "Little Italy".

This is their menu.
Not many choices (Less choices than GUU)
and price is around  $10 per dish.

This non-alcohol cocktail called Hello Kitty.
A sweet mix of strawberry purée, Calpico, and soda.
Bear order this because of its cute name.

My drink is called Yuzu Slush.
But it took a long time to make, so they give us for free.
Reason for the delay, because they were using the blender to make dessert in the kitchen.
Apparently, they only got one blender in the store!?
I like that refreshing drink (however, i forgot to take a pic.)

I took a sip of Hello Kitty while i was waiting for my Yuzu.

Ishi-Yaki (bottom left of the picture)
Rice, minced pork, garlic sprouts, egg, tomato, lettuce, spicy miso, served in a hot stone bowl

I know it doesn't look good in the picture.
The server mixed all ingredients with the rice for us before I took a good picture of it.
(It's my fault...I just wanna taste it ASAP...so I forgot...)
Now just imagine the colorful ingredients topped over rice.
This rice tastes really good.  It's kinda like Korean style?

Karaage
Deep-fried boneless chicken, soy ginger sauce

Love this one because the sauce and the vegetable makes the chicken tastier.

Ika
Grilled squid, sake soy garlic marinade

Won't order this again.
It tastes a little bit bitter because it's burned?

Tofu pudding topped with mixed berries.
It tastes not bad.
Can't taste the tofu though, it's more like Creme Brulee.
(but I prefer GUU's Almond Tofu pudding.)
The portion is bigger than GUU one, should share this with someone.

The quality of the food is good. The presentation of each dish (plating) looks nice.
Food tastes delicious.
I'll come again for the curry beef rice. Someone from the next table ordered that.
That sweet curry smell is appealing~
