香港麵家 (closed)

現在每朝8am就出發返工, 在電台常聽到「香港麵家」的廣告,
沒鹼水味、沒加防腐劑的麵條。
現在特價的雲吞麵, $3.5。
蝦子湯底好喝, 鮮甜美味!
菠菜麵的口感爽爽的,
可是雲吞不太是我口味,
餡料全是蝦, 沒有一點肥豬肉調味,
吃下去, 只能說是感覺「健康」~






京都炸醬麵, 和我想像不一樣的,
這個是健康版,
我本以為是那些染色好勁的紅色炸醬~
哈哈...下次不會再order這個~

本來是撈水餃, 但已賣光了!!!
這樣吃是不錯~
下次想吃蝦子麵。

Kinton Ramen

好朋友告訴我有間新的拉麵館,
而且是由GUU同一個老闆開的,
所以立刻在這個星期六去試試。
早上11:30開鋪, 我們11:25am到達,
已經有大約十人在門口排隊等待。

My best friend told me about this new ramen place.
It runs under the same owner as GUU.
It opens at 11:30am, and we arrived there at 11:25am,
there are already 10+ people waiting in line.





我們坐在做麵的桌前, 想八卦一下,
他們三個人在廚房忙著不同的事,
一個在煮麵, 一個在調湯汁,
另一個則負責小吃,
同心協力的在做おいしい拉麵~

Love the concept of open kitchen, can see how the chefs prepare the Oishii ramen for us.



知道他在做甚麼嗎?
在火炙豬肉片, 增强美味感。

Do you know what he is doing?
He is using a kitchen torch to add caramelized flavour to the pork.

豬肉有豬肩肉和豬腩肉兩種
湯有三種- Shio(鹽味), Miso(麵豉), Soy(醬油)
Pork Meat can choose from belly or shoulder.
Basic soup base:  Shio (Sea Salt), Miso or Soy

Kinton Ramen
二哥選了 鹽味Kinton Ramen, 即是招牌麵。
擁有豬肩肉和豬腩肉, 兩種口感,
二哥覺得湯有點咸!
自從我在日本東京試過鹽味拉麵,
已知它不是我碗湯, 哈哈...

My brother opted for the Shio Kinton Ramen.
This ramen has extra meats including pork belly and shoulder, two different taste.
The soup is little bit salty.
Honestly, i do not like Shio Ramen after i tried once in Japan.

Spicy Ramen
我當然選Spicy Ramen, 辣辣拉麵我要吃!!!
上面那顆圓球的是鮮蒜蓉 =]
店長問我會不會太辣, 我覺得不錯, 剛好~
不嗆, 是惹味的微辛感 =]

Of course I ordered Spicy Ramen!!!
That ball-shaped thingy on top is fresh granted Garlic =]
The Owner asked me if the soup is too spicy because there is someone complained about it yesterday and exchange for a mild flavor one.
To me, it isn't too spicy.  It's just right.


可惜麵的口感很工廠,
粗幼好工整且好像意大利麵,
有點硬而沒靱度...
但個湯底是OK的(只要不是海鹽味)~
Too bad the noodle is so factory like.
It's kinda like al dente spaghetti....(a little bit hard)
However, the broth itself tastes ok. (just do not order Shio)~

This seasoned egg tastes wonderful. (must eat item)
Spicy Ramen got no seasoned egg.

Shio Ramen


熊選SHIO, 有大大堆栗米,
嘻嘻, 當然給我偷走!
Shio湯底真的是: 我不喜歡!!!
二哥與熊也舉腳贊成, 下次不要海鹽味~
下次想試芝士拉麵!
Ms. Ho opted for Shio Ramen, got lots of corn.
hehe...i stole lots of corn from her.
Shio broth isn't what i like.
We all agreed that no more SHIO ramen!!!
Next time let's try cheese ramen!

馥苑 Made in China

現在火鍋店的裝修都不是普普通通便算, 總搞一些特式或主題。
下午茶就試試馥苑, 這間店本是吃火鍋的, 現在有午餐與下午茶供應。
Nowaday, hotpot restaurant's interior design and decoration has theme, not just plain one.
This restaurant is usually for Hotpot but offer lunch and afternoon tea set
Today we came here for HK style afternoon tea set.

在餐牌上看到「一飛沖天」,  問侍應是甚麼來的,
他解說是三層waffle, 每層也配不同口味的雪糕, 也有水果,
雪糕最上層是草莓(strawberry)、中間是香草(vanilla), 最低層是巧克力(chocolate),
水果有西瓜、草莓、香蕉, 都擺盤得很漂亮,
而且格仔餅(waffle)上桌時還是外脆內軟, 很好吃啊~
Wondering what's "Rocket Waffle" on the menu, so asked the server.
He explained it's 3 layers of waffles and each layer got different flavour of ice-cream an fruit.
There are Strawberry ice-cream on the top layer, then middle is Vanilla and the bottom one is Chocolate.
Fruit we got watermelon, strawberries, banana. 

下午茶餐送雪糕紅豆冰, 紅豆煮得甜度適中,
一顆顆的綿蜜蜜, 猜不到隨餐附送會這樣的OK~
鷄翼薯條就是chicken wings and fries, 沒有特別~
Afternoon tea set come with red bean slush with ice-cream.
The red bean is cooked perfectly and the right level of sweetness.

荔枝灣

媽媽節的今天, 我們一家決定試試荔枝灣,
聽說這間海鮮也不錯, 價錢也商議。
尖椒炒鷄腎很好下飯, 令我吃過不停!!!
這家的炒龍蝦不錯, 吃了不會有口渴的感覺, 沒有下勁味精~
龍蝦膏可以用來炒飯或是蒸蛋, 我們這次選炒飯。
老闆告訴我們, 菠蘿是每天在no frill買的, 而且每個菠蘿器皿也只用一次,
所以Pineapple是新鮮的, 衛生又甜美~
荔園鷄要特地訂製, 先醃一整夜, 在當天再烹調三小時,
這黃油鷄是值得一試的, 大家也訂來試試吧~
我忘了拍蒸金多寶魚的照片, 那個超好吃,
老闆說魚是從法國送來的, 魚肉實而且滑~

J-Town 的Toro again

Toro sushi
Recital圓滿結束, 雖然嘴裏說下次不再參加,
但如果下年我還在努力學笛, 我想我會再試。
上到台時就是一片空白, 跟老師Duet兩首, 然後怱怱下台,
我好搞笑地以為上台時也有拍子機, 結果是靠記憶來演那節奏。
GM好sweet地對我說:「姑姑吹得最好聽。」

回到家, 二哥已準備一盤吞拿魚腩壽司等我們,
我和二嫂也覺得上一次那些Toro較肥美, 這次的有點筋, 但也是好美味。
Toro好有魚脂, 配上壽司飯會比較不膩,
剩下的吞拿魚腩切成碎混入葱, 成為碎花蔥吞拿魚腩軍艦, yum~

Floral Clock 2012 Spring

每次來到Niagara Falls都要到Floral Clock照一照,
它随著季節而改變顏色, 有不同的花種。

Paris Crepes Bistro (revisit)


上次來Paris Crepes Bistro已經是兩年前跟家人一起來,
這次我們也只是吃Crepe, 或許下次可以試別的,
三月時這裏有crazy mussel night, newsletter 常會有信息,
似乎每月也會有一些promotion。 

裝潢也是和上次來的一樣, 架子上擺滿自家制的果醬,
牆上有著法式海報與裝飾擺設, 簡單又有點復古。
首先當然來杯Latte了~
PICARDE $14.75
 全麥做的薄餅叫Gallette, 普通的就叫Crepe,
上次咸的試了La complete, 今次就order了PICARDE,
 Scrambled Egg, Cheese, Béchamel with Mushroom, Ham, Asparagus
好吃啊~  Béchamel=white sauce, 濃濃的白汁蘑菇,
但對比下我喜歡La Complete多一點, 可能有太陽蛋, 哈哈...
( 其實我prefer街頭小吃那種crepe, 可以拿在手裏邊走邊吃, 而且較便宜~)
NIAGARA FALLS $9.50
來到Niagara, 就試試這個甜crepeNiagara Falls,
雖然我不明白它跟瀑布能扯上甚麽關係!?
配料有Strawberry, Raspberries, Peaches, Nutella, Vanilla Ice Cream,
最喜歡甜薄餅, 尤其那crepe夾了滿滿的nutella, Vanilla Gelato夠滑,
還看到雪糕上有香草籽~

再光臨這裏, 是想享受小店的悠閒氛圍,
呷著一口Latte, 上唇也沾了奶泡,
坐著一張小餐桌, 懶懶的在Niagara Falls渡假~

BRAVO! Cucina Italiana

朋友DaDa介紹我去試BRAVO,
After 我瘋狂shopping後, 晚餐就在這搞定。
Dada特別推薦龍蝦湯, 我就order這個作appertizer~
Lobster Bisque
湯很濃稠, 有點太咸, 這上桌時也不夠熱, 所以沒有太愛,
當Server問我們的湯怎樣, 我們如實的答:  it's quite salty,
結帳時發現這湯由$5.49減到$3.99, 服務也太好了吧!!!
Signature Dish:  Pasta BRAVO!
這Pasta的醬汁是由甜紅椒與忌廉調成的, 香甜而不膩, 我也希望自己懂得弄這醬,
有幾塊鷄肉乾了點, 但味道是好的, rigatoni煮得剛好, 有咬感, al dente~
Lemon Shrimp Florentine Pasta
雖說Pasta Bravo是Signature Dish, 但這道鮮蝦意大利麵更可口,
現在是春天, 所以吃這個更為適合, 檸檬忌廉汁令人開胃, 一口接一口~
下次會再光臨這, 試其他意大利麵~

Cheesecake Factory (revisit)

其實這間餐廳不是十分的好吃,
卻每次也有很多人在, 滿滿的客人,
菜式的味道真的很American, 份量也特大,
我想因為是大份又抵食吧!?
(Oh...可是他們家的芝士蛋糕一點也不便宜, 差不多US$7一件 。)
Lunch Special: Caesar Salad + Hawaiian Pizza

我們到Baffalo的第一站是Walden Galleria, 午餐就在這了!
那個套餐的Caesar Salad也太大份了吧!?  醬汁也極多(肥死我!!!)
Pizza的餅皮是夠薄, 烘得卻不脆, 可能太多cheese而軟趴趴的, 味道也普通,
如果下次有機會再來, 一定不order Pizza!

漢堡可能是這裏最美味的, 這個mushroom melt熊說肉汁很juicy, 外脆內嫩~
看她吃得這麼香, 下次我也要試試(踫巧這個月我不吃牛)。
甜薯條香又脆, 我倆都喜歡, 吃啊吃啊, 就全沒了~

Craig's Crazy Carrot Cake Cheesecake

這個carrot cheesecake成為這裏我最favorite的芝士蛋糕, Cheesecake與Carrot Cake超配~
之前試過Original、Godiva Chocolate、Pineapple Upside Down~
外賣了Brownie Sundae Cheesecake與Original給二嫂和媽媽。
(之後再寫Brownie Sundae的味道~)

台味軒 WEI's Taiwanese Food Inc

一直想到台味軒試試, 趁著這段空閒時間去了~
店好像只在11am-3pm營業, 逢星期二休息。
熊介紹這店時, 我以為是一間有珍珠奶茶與小吃的店,
到了才知是一間台式便當店, 主要是做外帶的,
店裏只有三張小桌子, 我想只有我們會在那裏坐。
Opening hours is 11am-3pm everyday, except Tuesday(usual day off).
When Bear told me about this place, I thought it's for bubble tea and snack.
It's actually a place selling Taiwanese Bento, mainly for take-out.
This place only has 3 little tables and few old chairs, not a comfy place to eat in.
However,  if you are there to eat deep-fried fermented tofu, you got no choice but sit there.
(I guess no one wants to get this "wonderful" aroma in one's vehicle.)


鹽酥鷄便當Crispy chicken Bento
鹽酥鷄是外脆內嫩 而且不油~
便當可以選三種小菜, 我們的是茄子、豆干與蕃茄蛋。
Crispy Chicken is nicely deep-fried, juicy and not oily.
For the Bento, you can choose 3 different side dishes.
We chose Eggplant, Bead curd and Egg with Tomato.
Freshly deep fried Stinky Tofu
雖然魏家臭豆腐常在夜市吃到 ,
但到店裏吃還是不一樣的, 由於沒有一大條人龍在趕,
他們有足夠的時間去炸與處理臭豆腐,
外表比夜市的好看, 口感也比夜市的脆~
Eating Wei's deep-fried fermented tofu in night market is different than in store.
Here we won't have a long line-up, they got enough time to do the deep fry.
Since freshly deep-fried got enough time to settle, they are crisp at the outer crust and so soft inside.
Great texture~  better than the night market one~

Cakeview Bakery & Cafe 楓林餅店





楓林的芒果蛋糕超讚 !!!
超市有著一箱箱的芒果熱賣中,芒果季節到了!!!
第一時間想到甚麼?當然不是自己弄甜點,
而是跑去楓林餅店,他們的鮮芒蛋糕真的超棒的!
鬆軟綿密的sponge cake, 淡淡忌廉, 甜味就來自芒果。
自從在上年吃過一次就念念不忘,這蛋糕只在芒果旺季才有,
我早在上年已決定要吃個滿足,今天五月八曰先吃二零一二的第一囗!!!
楓林這店小小的,
可他家的華爾滋奶酪布丁包與鮮芒果蛋糕是我十分喜愛的麭麭與甜點~

Mango Cake from Cakeview Bakery & Cafe is my favorite!!!
Mango season has been arrived and there are lots of mangoes in supermarket.
What comes to my mind when I see boxes of mangoes?
I immediately run to Cakeview Bakery to order their Fresh Mango Cake.
The sponge cake is porous, light and fluffy, layered with whipping cream and fresh mangoes.
I only ate this cake once in last summer, I miss it very much.
This cake is only available in summer time when it is mango season.
I decided to eat as MANY as I want this year, today May 8th, 2012 i have my first bite~
This small bakery got the best Mango Cake.  And their cheese pudding bun is my favorite too.

南亞 South Asia Malaysian Cuisine

咖喱鷄+薄餅 Curry Chicken + Roti

蝦麵 Noodle in Shrimp Broth

本來想去台味軒, 但它逢星期二休息,
我們就去了南亞吃咖喱鷄薄餅+蝦麵~
中午也有不少人在吃,
很多人選了海南鷄飯,
下次我也要試試~
(但是每次我也受蝦麵誘惑...)
Originally we are planned to go Wei's Taiwanese Food Inc.
However, Tuesday is their usual day off.
So we decided to eat Curry chicken + Roti and Noodle in shrimp broth at South Asia Malaysian Cuisine.
There are quite a lot of people having lunch there. 
And most of them order the Hainanese chicken rice, maybe I'll try that next time.
(But everytime I got seduced by the noodle in the shrimp broth...)

蝦湯底好甜啊~
(不知道用了多少蝦殼去餚煮呢?)
如果那參巴醬再加多點, 就更好~~~
配料有蝦, 鷄肉, 鷄蛋, 通菜,
加上油麵與米粉, 好吃!!! 
The Shrimp Broth is so savory~
(How many shrimp shells are put there to simmer?)
If more sambals sauce, it'll taste better~
Ingredients have Shrimp, Chicken, Boiled egg and  Tong Choi, Noodle and Rice vermicelli.
It tastes really good!!!

薄餅夠酥~~~
咖喱汁好吃, 但鷄肉不是嫩的,
我想是烹煮太久吧!?
應該有一大窩在廚房吧!?
Roti is crispy~
Curry is tasty, but chicken is over cooked.
I think because it stews for a long time!?
There is a big pot of curry chicken in kitchen!?
